Lee sighed softly, looking down at one of his best friends. She was still asleep, breathing heavily. It felt like she was dying, even though she had only obtained an illness. Her skin was incredibly pale, and her skin was cold. She was suffering, he could tell. Honestly, he just wished her stupid illness would go away and make her happy again, but it seemed that it would be there for quiet some time to come. Lady Tsunade had tried her best to help, and it had worked on a few occasions, but everybody was on edge, waiting for the news of her recovery.
When Lee was in hospital, Anrei had visited him daily, to make sure he felt fine, and to wish him well. She was a true friend, and a caring one. She brought food for him, flowers, and anything else she thought he might have liked, it made Lee feel guilty, knowing he couldn't really to the same. The thing that Anrei liked the most was a very rare flower, that only bloomed at a certain time of the year, and it was hard to find. Lee had tried his best to find it, but failed, numerous times.
"Everybody is waiting for you to get better..." Lee muttered softly, attempting to speak to the girl while she was sleeping, "Everybody is worried about you..." His attempt to wake her by speaking turned up fruitless. She stayed still, still breathing heavily, her eyes shut.
"Even Sasuke Uchiha." He added with a hint of jealousy, "He wants you to get better, too. He brought you some flowers today..." He knew that Anrei would have been happy by that. Sasuke never cared about anyone, so it proved that he did value his team-member. Maybe it was because he saved his ass a few missions ago.
"Please, wake up," he whispered softly, plopping into the wooden chair beside her bed. He couldn't loose a valued friend. He wouldn't allow it... He couldn't bare to see her die, let alone be so ill.
"Lee, how's Anrei, did she wake up while you were there today?" Tenten asked sweetly as she looked at a rather tired-looking Lee. He shook his head in reply.
"No." was all that came out of his mouth, a pause brought on an awkward silence, "The doctor said she must have more rest in order to fully recover."
"I see... But if we keep on visiting she'll get better real fast, ok?" She beamed at him, and he only turned away. Obviously he wasn't in any mood to talk at the moment.
"He'll be alright..." Neji muttered, "Anrei's illness is tough on everybody... She'll recover..."
"Lee's been pretty sad lately, I wonder if he's scared about Anrei's illness..." Sakura muttered to Naruto, not really expecting an answer to come from him.
"Well, they've been friends for a long time, it's natural for Lee to be worried about her." Naruto replied, slurrping his ramen gleefully.
"Yeah, it's just tough, seeing Lee so down all the time..." Sakura said softly, imagining a even more depressed Lee than he already was, "It's torture, seeing him frowning all the time..."
"Anrei? Wake up..." The voices echoed through her dark mind, but she eventually awoke, seeing her team-mates in front of her, all glad to see that she was alright, even Sasuke.
"S-Sakura? Naruto...? Sasuke? What are you guys doing here?" She asked sleepily, "I thought you guys had forgotten about me..." Sakura nearly exploded at those words.
"FORGOTTEN?!" She practically screamed over everything, "WE LOVE YOU TO DEATH!" Anrei smiled, drowsily, she loved her team-mates right back, yeah, even Sasuke.
"Thanks... guys..." She replied softly, "Mind telling me who keeps brining me these pretty roses?"
"Oh, Lee keeps on bringing them. I told him to bring them, because you like Roses." Naruto said happily as he smiled down at her. Anrei smiled, looking over at the beautiful roses bathing in the sun-light. They seemed so happy.
Lee could be so sweet...
Silence, once more. The hospital room was so dull, and Anrei hated it. The only thing that made it beautiful was the roses Lee had brought for her as often as he could. The door creeked open as a very sad-looking Lee stepped through, another fresh bundle of roses in his hands.
"Good morning, Lee," A smile curved onto his face as he looked up, meeting a gentle gaze with her. He placed the roses in a vase and sat in the chair next to her bed.
He placed a gentle hand on her arm and smiled at her, "It's nice to see you awake again, Anrei." She smiled back at him, letting out a deep sigh.
"It's nice to be awake again. I was having scary nightmares every time a feel asleep." She muttered, "I kept thinking I was dead..."
"You're not dead, you are alive, and you look healthy. You must be recovering." Lee said softly, "In case you ever do die from an illness... Can I tell you something?"
Anrei eyed him for a moment, "Of course, Lee, what is it?" He gulped, feeling the butterflies eating away at his insides.
"I...I really like you, Anrei." He muttered nervously. Anrei's thin-line of a mouth turned into a weak-smile as she took Lee's hand in her own.
"That's good, because I feel the same." She weakly moved her head up, meeting Lee's with her own. They were soft and cold, just as she had imagined. He instantly returned the gesture, kissing her back gently, not wanting to hurt her.
He gently removed her hospital dress, leaving her in a pair of underwear.
"Please, Lee, not now-"
"What if you die tomorrow? And I never get the chance to do this?" She considered that, and frowned, looking down at the bed-sheets.
"Be gentle, I've never done this before..." She muttered softly, wrapping her arms around Lee's neck, pulling him into another gentle kiss. She pulled her's clothing off, and felt a soft sensation down below.
"Lee!" She gasped, "Too soon!" He removed his hand in apology, only to replace it with him self. He pushed forward gently. Anrei moaned softly, the constant pain in her stomach was slowing down, turning into a constant tingling pleasure.
"I...I never imagined this!" Anrei moaned in pleasure as she wrapped her legs around Lee, making sure he didn't go anywhere any time soon.
It didn't last all that long, they were reaching their climaxes, and with one last gentle push, it was over. Lee remained, leaning over the female below him.
"Be mine, Anrei-"
"I was always yours..." She interrupted softly.

Lee frowned down at the grave. He didn't want to cry, he couldn't cry. He knew that, even in death, his loved one would always be with him. Only a few weeks after that happy day where the two become one, Anrei passed away from her illness. The doctors explained that it basically 'ate her alive', and that she stood no chance against it. Everybody was shocked, and Sakura couldn't stop crying. But, Lee promised him self that he would never cry, he'd be strong, and only remember the good times.
